Lamma Gurning

The ancient art of Gurning is said to date back to 1267. In order to carry on this fine tradition we decided to hold our very own version on Lamma Funday -- "The First International Lamma Gurning Championships". The money raised was donated to The Child Welfare Scheme in Nepal. In order to win the competition people had to make the most grotesque face and we asked everyone to hand over $HK20 a time for the privilege -- turns out there are some pretty generous (and ugly) people on Lamma. Voice for Justice

As part of the fight for democracy the Democratic Party organised the first ever rock concert backed by a political party in Hong Kong. The aim was to raise awareness amongst younger people in order to get them to march at the annual July 1st March.
